My kids love this park. I would consider this to be a destination playground. It has tall slides, zip lines, and seating/shade throughout. It is also fenced in. If you have young kids this is a must visit free entertainment option.

Great structures and well shaded, but lots of trash around and several piles of vomit. Could use a group to take an hour or two and pick up all the trash and wish there was another trash receptacle inside. We picked up a couple handfuls, but we’re chasing two toddlers who wouldn’t allow for more clean up. Please pick up a few handfuls if you can!

Fun place, but almost too big. It's impossible to keep an eye on more than one kid at a time. My 4-year-old got lost up in the play area and I had to go get him, which was no small feat. Problem was I had my 2-year-old with me too. My advice would be to either bring just one child or one adult per child. Other than that it was a good time

This place has gone downhill. Parents do not watch their children and there is no enforcement of the rules by staff. The toddler area is supposed to be age 4 and under. My 16 month old has been unable to play there due to 10+ year olds climbing up the slides, climbing on top of the structure over the slides, and running around not watching where they’re going. If you have a kid who plays nicely and can follow rules, this is not the place for you. I’m giving 3 stars because the equipment is very nice, and if you can come when it’s not busy it’s probably a lot of fun.

A great fenced in playground area with lots of activities! Playground equipment made for toddlers to teens! The playground is a mixture of rubberized surfacing and wood chips. There is an area that contains sand but it’s to help uncover pretend dinosaur bones! There’s adaptive swings. A lot of different climbing structures and ropes to climb. There’s a variety of areas surrounding the playground to take a seat and have a break on a bench or picnic table and some are even covered and under the shade! The playground also has a water station to fill up your water or grab a quick sip. Lots of bike trails lead to the playground. The parking lot is large with lots of parking!

Inspired by this playground in May 2012, I incorporated similar equipment into Elk River parks during my tenure as Parks and Recreation Director from 2011 to 2024. Having assessed over 100 playgrounds, I highly regard this one. The main tower showcases "Miracle" commercial equipment, paired with "Kompan" rope-themed options. This expansive playground accommodates various age groups with diverse playsets, dinosaur dig areas and sloping terrain requiring suitable footwear. Picnic tables are plentiful, and bathroom facilities include waterless soap. This playground exemplifies excellence in playground design within the Twin Cities region.

Large playground with a variety of activities for kids of varying age. When it's busy expect kids to wait awhile to try out the various slides, swings, and climbers. The slides on the big structure are all identical so it would have been nice to have a bit of variety. Some of the elements have a slight danger level to them such as the large yellow spinner that could fling kids off the top. Most of the play area is covered in the medium-hard foam that protects against modest falls, but there are plenty of drops and hard rocks.

Pretty sweet playground for kiddos! There's a large older kid structure with a bunch of huge slides, a smaller kid playground, some "zip lines", a huge dinosaur dog sandbox, and some spiderweb climbing structures. There's tons to do, so expect to spend an hour at least. Bring some snacks or a lunch because they have some beautiful shaded picnic areas. You can walk to the nearby beach too (does cost $ to swim) when it's really hot. Highly suggest trying to go during off-peak hours as this place gets crazy busy. We've been trying to go right when it opens in the summer (9am) so we can enjoy for a few hours and go get lunch when it's packed.

Multi level playground for kids of all ages. Toddlers and up. The playground is huge. There are so many areas, each with a different playset or activity for kids. One of the best parks I've ever seen. You can even do a dinosaur dig in the sand pit. Make sure you wear good fitting shoes as there are many slopes to walk on. There are also many picnic tables for families or get-togethers. There is a bathroom, but it is just a glorified outhouse with waterless soap and no sinks or changing tables. This is a playground we will be back to. Wish there were playgrounds like this when we were young.

Kids love this place! Plenty of room and activities for them to stay busy multiple hours. Separated party room is a great addition. If you have a chance to come here often the monthly membership would be your best option, after only two visits in the same 30 days it pays off and the rest of the month you visit “for free” :)

Not suitable for toddlers. My daughter who is 3 years old felt terrified with bigger kids running around at high speed without noticing who is around. No play area segregation based on the age. There is small area for kids below two years of age but rest of the area is common for all kids until 17 years. Just got my membership and cancelled it right away. Don’t want my kid to be traumatized. Good park employee just sits inside the room and watches the phone and doesn’t care what is happening in the play area. Atleast if the employee can let the bigger kids know not to run and watch out for others that would be great.

The kiddos were kept busy here!! I can see why it is popular here. Many places/"stations" to go through in your time here. Toddler area, big general main area with different jungle gym equipments, a big jumping pillow, a hoops area, turf area, and building foam blocks nearby the eating and restroom areas! There is also a separate diaper changing area and a semi-private nursing area (the chairs in the pictures with a wall), which I appreciated being right off the main play area! Admission is a bit pricey but totally worth it if you make it a multi-hour or all day activity. Plus, you get to bring your own food and drinks. You can re-entry too, on the same day! So the price is worth it. Being unsupervised has its cons but overall, an excellent experience. We will be back!

We have been members for many years now! I’m not sure how I haven’t written a review yet! Price is reasonable, owners and staff are wonderful and friendly, and the place is almost always impressively clean! I have really appreciated the addition of online field trip postings because we definitely avoid those days. It can get busy and loud during those times, but that’s understandable. There are never field trips on Mondays and that’s great! They are constantly making improvements, most recently: new flooring in areas, more things in the baby area, and a ninja obstacle course. There is also a large eating area with high chairs which is great! I would love to see a baby/toddler wall seat installed in one of the restroom stalls because it’s hard to use the restroom when you are alone with a crawling baby. Also, a short toilet for young kids would be a huge help! Thanks for providing a fun, clean, and engaging indoor play space!

This is one of our favorite parks as it has a variety of equipment for both little tots and older kids. It’s also connected to walking/biking trails along the river. I appreciate that it’s always fairly busy so my toddler has other kids to play with on Mondays, when I take the day off as a Real Estate Advisor.

Hyland Lake Park Reserve's 'Chutes and Ladders' playground, part of Minnesota's Three Rivers Park District, is a high-quality play area designed by industry leader Landscape Structures. This playground features a unique 'Roller Slide' element, which I have incorporated into many playground projects throughout my career. The sprawling, multi-level structure offers an exciting adventure with extensive slides, climbing nets, tunnels, and rock walls. The playground is divided into age-based sections, including dedicated toddler areas, ensuring accessibility for all. However, the main playground can become crowded on warm weekends, making it challenging to keep track of children. If you're looking for a top-notch playground experience, make sure to visit this premier destination playground in the metro area.

I went to the Play Area, Chutes and Ladders, with my sons and grandchildren. Everyone got lots of exercise and had fun. The kids are ages 3 to 9. They played independently and kept checking in from time to time for drinks and snacks. It was a nice fall day and the adults sat at a picnic table talking. The kids never asked to leave and seemed happy. We had a great day and enjoyed ourselves. 😀

We absolutely adore this park. We try to stop by when we are in the area because it's so huge. There is something fun for kids of every size. Its nickname "Chutes and Ladders Park" is totally accurate. So much climbing and so many slides! There are lots of picnic tables with umbrellas. We have always been able to find shade when we need it. One area of the play stations has water sprinklers when it is warm enough. There is ample parking and a nature reserve for walks or bike rides.

If you are looking for a park to fit all your ages from baby to 12. They have a water play area that features a gentle fountain and covered sitting area. Those under 5 do need supervision as some areas will be a bit deep for them. The bathrooms are in decent condition, maybe just a little old. Plenty of picnic shelters, a volleyball court, swings, two handicapped accessible swinging chairs, a sand playground, a playground for with wheelchair accessible features. Oh and the disc golf course!

This playground had some tall, tree house inspired structures that the kids enjoyed. The different rock climbing structures were fun for the older kids. There is a 4-person teeter toter that I haven't seen anywhere in a while. The equipment seemed well maintained and clean. Nice benches are available in the park. There is a woodchip base, but soft rubber to some of the swings. An old lion head drinking fountain is in working order. Large parking lot.

I miss the old sky land that i remember from childhood , but all things come to an end and public places especially need maintenance and eventual replacement. The new playground isn't nearly as big, but it's got way less splinters too (old one was wooden) and it's a pretty big structure in its own right. Then there's a water park my 2 year old loves as well as nice picnic areas and some fields.
