Bit of a trek from non-Algiers New Orleans but a pretty sizable playground. Lots of tunnels and ropes and bars to climb on which should keep a fairly wide age range of kids occupied. There's some shaded picnic tables but the nearest covered area lost its roof from high winds. Bathrooms were functional and reasonably clean.

It's a good place for older children not for toddlers. There's not much that a toddler can do out there they have to be assisted by an adult with every step which can get very tiresome

The Oakdale Playground is pretty great, there is such a variety of things to do for many age groups. It is complete with a sports complex with tennis courts, softball and baseball fields, walking trails and many more. They also have a gymnasium and a breakout room that does fitness classes. You can check the schedule in the building or in the office. This is a very high traffic park. There is always a large number of patrons using mini aspects of the facility. So it is also cluttered. The bathrooms are very roomy and decently clean. There is a bit of litter everywhere. I do have to stop my son from playing with trash but he loves to pick it up and save the environment. With plenty to do and a high energy park with good viability it's a very safe place to take your kids, go for a walk,or get in a workout.
